MANALAPAN, NJ – The acclaimed Arcadian Chorale will celebrate Jewish music and culture with its Spring 2016 program, “L’Chaim, to Life!” The performance on Sat., May 14 at 8:00 PM is quite special, as it will also celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the performance site, Temple Shaari Emeth in Manalapan, 400 Craig Road.

The concert will offer a great variety of music, from inspirational sacred works and songs derived from Jewish folk music to familiar Broadway hits, including Fiddler on the Roof. “We are so excited to explore the varied musical traditions and legacies of Jewish culture,” said Music Director Marina Alexander, “for it is rich with beautiful poetry, tuneful melodies, universal emotions, and a great joy for living.”

Much revered for his beautiful voice and dedication to the community, Cantor Wayne Siet will appear as Special Guest Artist, and join the Chorale in singing works that demonstrate the heights of the cantorial tradition.

In mid-April, in Rumson and then in Aberdeen, the Chorale performed this same “L’Chaim!” program to enthusiastic crowds, and standing ovations. One attendee remarked, “What a magnificent program! I want to thank you for the inspiring afternoon….the Chorus’ voices completely embraced the audience.”

Known for its fine musicianship and innovative programming, the 65 voice Chorale is in its 23rd year, and based in Matawan, NJ. It has performed many times in New York at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and at NJPAC. Area performances have been held in Asbury Park, Holmdel, Red Bank, and Freehold. The group is a member of Monmouth Arts, and the NJ Choral Consortium.
