ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – The Rev. Paul F. Rack will preach on Jesus’ establishment of a new fellowship in his name during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service at the First Presbyterian Church.

The title of his sermon is “153” and is based on John 21:1-14.
Elder Barbara Stone will serve as liturgist during the service and the David Nunez-directed adult choir will perform.
“After his resurrection, Jesus appears to his disciples on a beach in Galilee,” according to the  pastor of the 126-year-old church. “Responding to his instructions, the disciples catch a large haul of fish — 153 of them.
“The story has to do with recognizing the presence of the Lord with us, the efficacy of following his words and the establishment of a new table fellowship in his name.”
All  area residents are invited to Sunday’s worship service while all young people are welcome to attend  Sunday School, both beginning at 11 a.m. Refreshments will be served both before and after the service.
Area residents are also invited to attend weekly Bible Study at 11:15 a.m Wednesday at Sissy’s Restaurant in the yacht harbor.
On Mother’ Day, May 8, members and friends  are urged to attend and donate to the Church World Services’ “Blanket Sunday” program.
On Saturday, May 14, the church Board of Deacons  will be participating in the annual town-wide garage sale by selling bag lunches on the church steps.
