property inspection

property inspectionHOLMDEL, NJ – Realty Data Systems (RDS) was contracted to perform interior and exterior property inspections for HOLMDEL TOWNSHIP. The inspections will begin over the next few weeks and continue through the summer.

The municipality mailed notification cards to the designated property owners, and the Assessor’s Office has the complete list of properties to be inspected.

The inspectors work between 9AM and dusk (Mon – Sat) unless a homeowner has made an early evening appointment to inspect the interior. All inspectors wear RDS high-visibility vests with “PROPERTY INSPECTOR” printed on the tail, and carry HOLMDEL and RDS photo ID badges. The inspection consists of taking photographs (with a tablet), knocking on doors to inspect the interior with a homeowner or adult permission, walking the properties (including rear yards) to perform exterior inspection, as well as sketching the structures.

If there is no answer at the door, a door hanger explaining the purpose of the visit and instructions to contact the inspector for an appointment is left on the door knob (or under a door mat if necessary).

The inspector will continue the exterior inspection, including entering the rear of the property. Inspectors will not go through locked gates, but will enter an unlocked gate/fence to access the rear of the property and verify the sketch of the structure and accessory structures.

If you have any concerns about the inspectors, both the Assessor’s Office and Police Department have a list of Inspectors and their information
