ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — The Rev. Paul F. Rack will preach on “how Jesus inspires us to be one in him, one with each other and one with God” during the 11 a.m. Sunday service at the First Presbyterian Church.

The pastor’s sermon, entitled “Repentance and Forgiveness,” is based on Luke 24:36-52.

“The risen Christ appears to his gathered disciples in Jerusalem, commissioning them to preach repentance and forgiveness,” Rack says.  “Repentance means coming to a new way of thinking and forgiveness means being released from alienation and enmity.”

“Hence the new way of thinking that Jesus inspires is that we are all one in him: one with each other, one with creation and even, as ‘participants in the divine nature,’ one with God.”

David Nunez and the adult choir will perform during the service.
