Pastor will preach Sunday on “burning in our hearts”

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — The Rev. Paul F. Rack will preach on  when and how “we see the presence of God in our midst” and how we can connect with the “burning in our hearts” that urges us to pay attention during the 11 a.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church.

The pastor’s sermon, entitled “Heartburn,” is based on Luke 24:13-35.

“Two disciples of Jesus encounter him after his death, but they don’t recognize him,” according to Rack. “It is in the breaking of bread that they see him.

“When and how do we see the presence of God in our midst?  How can we connect with the ‘burning in our hearts” that urges us to pay attention? Where is God’s love now, and how do we see it?”
