Cold temperatures and wind chill values

RED BANK, NJ – One round of colder air moved into the region today and an even stronger Arctic blast will move into the region starting Saturday morning. Strong northwest winds will accompany the colder air resulting in some very cold wind chill values.

The most dangerous cold weather will be on Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will be dropping during the daytime Saturday with wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph as another round of Arctic air moves into the region. Low temperatures Saturday night will range from minus 12 up in the Poconos to around 8 above near the Delaware Atlantic Coast. Wind chills will be even colder, ranging from minus 30 in the Poconos to minus 10 in the south.

Wind chill temperatures this cold will be dangerous to people and pets. Property damage due to frozen water pipes is also likely when temperatures get this cold.
