RED BANK, NJ – The Foundation for the Red Bank Public Library announced its 2015 Annual Appeal today. This year’s theme is “Engaged, Essential, Evolving” as the Foundation celebrates the progress that the Library has made this past year, including increasing the number of open hours and introducing new programs, as well as launching a comprehensive strategic planning process that is well underway. The appeal letter will be sent to more than 8,700 local households and businesses.
“We are so grateful for the community’s support and engagement,” said Beth Hanratty, President of the Foundation, “This is our second annual appeal and our primary means of raising funds. Last year, we were very encouraged by the positive response.” Proceeds from the appeal will benefit the Foundation for the Red Bank Public Library, a nonprofit organization formed in 2013 to raise private funds to supplement the Library’s public funding. “Donations to the 2015 Annual Appeal will enable the Library to act on the recommendations of the strategic planning committee,” added Beth. Next year’s goals include further increasing the hours that the Library is open, sponsoring more cultural events, better publicizing all that the Library has to offer and introducing additional relevant programs for teens and the Library’s Spanish-speaking patrons.
The Foundation also hopes that the appeal will encourage more residents to sign up for a library card which is free to all who live or work in Red Bank.
