Outgoing Republican Mayor Fred Rast threw his support to the local Democrats in a letter mailed last Friday, at his own expense, to some residents in the town.  In the letter he claims that the “Local Republican Party Chair, Jane Frotton has tried to run the Borough for several years.  Because I have been there to stop her, she has failed.”  Rast questioned, “who will really be Mayor?”  He claimed that Archibald had done a litany of things which he felt disqualified the councilman as Mayor.

With school elections now moved to November, Atlantic Highlands voters also selected 3 people to serve on the Atlantic Highlands Elementary School Board – though only two name were on the ballot.  Conor Barnes and Suzanne Santry each garnered 688 votes.  A third candidate won the write-in vote.   The County results do not indicate who the write-in winner is.  180 write-in votes were cast.

The race for Atlantic Highlands representative to the Henry Hudson Regional School Board went to educator Thomas Hayden with 668 votes.  Tucker Snedeker earned 363 votes.
