MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Melissa Ziobro, Monmouth University will be discussing Fort Monmouth and Monmouth County in World War I on Thursday November 12th at 7:00 at Middletown Township Public Library located at 55 New Monmouth Road.
The name Monmouth has been synonymous with the defense of freedom since our country‘s inception. Named for the brave soldiers who gave their lives just a few miles away at the Battle of Monmouth Court House in 1778, Fort Monmouth was the site of some of the most significant communications and electronics breakthroughs in military history.
Ms. Ziobro has been an instructor of History at Monmouth University in West Long Branch since 2007. She also serves on the executive council of Brookdale Community College’s Center for World War II Studies and Conflict Resolution, and as the Book Reviews editor for New Jersey Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal.
