HIGHLANDS, NJ – We are preparing for the impending storm, Hurricane Joaquin although its path and affects are uncertain at this time.  The National Weather Service is reporting mild to moderate coastal flooding between now and Tuesday.  You will be receiving further updated information from the Highlands OEM office through Swift reach 9-1-1 and the Borough of Highlands website, www.highlandsnj.com  in the near future.

At this time, the Highlands Police Department would like to remind you to secure your property, especially those whose properties are under construction.

You are also reminded to secure your trash, construction debris, roll off dumpsters and any other containers keeping them covered or having them removed.

Also, construction, commercial and oversized vehicles as well as trailers, boats and RV’s are not permitted to be parked on any public roadway as per our borough ordinance.
