MIDDLETOWN, NJ – A lecture on the Archaeological Excavation of the Secaucus Potters Field (1870-1962) will be held at the Middletown Arts Center on Tuesday, September 29th at 7:30 pm at the Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church Street.

In advance of a new exit ramp for the NJ Turnpike this was the largest disinterment project in American history. A total of 4,571 bodies and 118,000 artifacts were recovered from the site. Among these were the remains of Leonardo Andriani, whose son and grandson successfully petitioned the NJ Turnpike Authority to identify as many of the individuals as possible.

Join Principal Investigator, Dr. Gerry Scharfenberger, as he provides a look at the human remains, artifacts and stories they told. Call 732-706-4100 for more information.
