ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – Monmouth County Emergency Response Team and local police responded to King James Court Condminiums and Apartments on Memorial Parkway (Highway 36) in Atlantic Highlands at about 4:31pm for a report of a man barricaded in an apartment there.
Neighbors were evacuated from nearby apartments.
(7:20 pm) Atlantic Highlands Police were setting up a light tower on Wesley Avenue behind the apartments.

(8:47pm) AH Fire and EMS personnel are returning to their headquarters. Residents will soon be allowed back in their apartments.
One policeman said the incident is over. “Everyone is healthy,” he said.
(9:55 pm) Det. Sgt. Thomas Stone said police found no one in the apartment. Police are continuing to search the area for the man.
(10:15 pm) Charles Weber, spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office said the man, whom he would not identify, was located in the area sometime between 9:30pm and 10pm.
The man will face charges, but Weber could not say what those charges would be because of the nature of the incident.
