OCEAN GROVE, NJ – NENAproductions Theater Project, Ocean Grove’s resident theater company celebrates it’s 12th season at the historic Jersey Shore Arts Center with two musicals to delight a variety of audiences.

Seussical the Musical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! TONY winners Lynn Ahrens (a Neptune High School graduate) and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once On This Island and Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, and a child with a big imagination–Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Seussical is fun for the whole family and will be staged Fridays and Saturdays, October 9 to 17 at 8PM, and Sunday, October 18 at 3PM.

In the spring of 2016, NENA will produce HAIR, The American Tribal Love Rock Musical. HAIR puts rock music and the culture that went with it on stage. The show has a strong effect on everyone and acts as a bridge between generations and viewpoints. Phenomenal musical numbers include Aquarius, Good Morning Starshine, I Believe in Love, Hair, I Got Life, What a Piece of Work Is Man and Hippie Life. This show has a vitality, a timelessness and a meaning that outlives the late 1960′s and early 1970′s in America. HAIR will be produced March 4 to March 13, 2016.
