Adds Amplification System for Hearing-Impaired
Lincroft, NJ — Lincroft Presbyterian Church (www.lincroftpc.org), a member of Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA), welcomes Reverend Diane R. Ford as its new pastor.
LPC congregants formally adopted the PCUSA’s vote to welcome and ordain all gender orientations and expressions. More recently the PCUSA authorized their clergy to marry same-gendered couples, and the kiosk on LPC’s front lawn reads, “We Celebrate All Marriages.”
Additionally, the congregation works to make their church welcoming and accessible to those of all ages who have physical challenges. This June they installed a new amplification system for the hearing-impaired to complement the large type bibles and handicapped accessible facilities. The hearing loop system works with digital hearing aids, as well as with available headsets to ensure clear communication throughout the sanctuary.
“I am thrilled to have been called to serve in a church that focuses their ministries outside the church walls, says Pastor Ford. “This is more in line with the ministry of Jesus, and allows the relevance of Christianity to be seen in the surrounding community. As a congregation we have the opportunity to be a place for people from all walks of life to congregate, celebrate and work together to build an even better community on the Jersey Shore.”

About Reverend Diane Ford
Reverend Diane Ford comes to Lincroft from Sacramento, California. She ministered at Grace Presbyterian Church in Sacramento for the past six years. Diane began as their Minister of Spiritual Development and Outreach. In October 2014 she was ordained and became the co-pastor at Grace. She worked with members of the Grace Presbyterian Church to institute a program called “Farm to Every Fork” to bring a CalFresh (food stamp) booth to a local farmer’s market. Diane is a professional musician and has led music and worship in many settings, styles and denominations. She graduated from Union Theological Seminary, New York City, with a Masters of Divinity focused on the Old Testament and a Masters of Sacred Theology focused on Historical Jesus and Christology. Her partner Elaine Lord and their Brittany Spaniel “Prairie” will relocate to Lincroft in the coming year.
Walk the Talk Sundays
Among the church’s outreach activities is its Walk the Talk Sunday series when a brief worship service is followed by volunteer work for community groups. Walk the Talk Sundays have included building a ramp for a home-bound member, leaf-raking for the elderly, food drives for the homeless, and a beach cleanup. Additionally, LPC is one of 12 host congregations for Family Promise of Monmouth County (www.familypromisemc.org), the only homeless shelter program for families in Monmouth County.
The vibrant community at LPC began as Red Bank Baptist Church in 1846 in what was called “Leedsville,” now Lincroft. As Monmouth County evolved, the church has grown and relocated to various locations, finding its current home on the corner of West Front Street and Everett Road. Today, visitors will find a recently expanded entrance to the church, and a worship space that is decorated to reflect the theme of the worship service. Talented musicians, relevant preaching and a relaxed atmosphere help shape the experience on Sundays.
LPC’s congregants are as varied as the mosaic of the USA with long-standing residents of Monmouth County, as well as newcomers to the Jersey Shore. Interests and occupations are as varied as our geographic origins with programs geared to our children and youth, a women’s retreat, a book club, a fiber of faith knit & crochet group, as well as bible study groups.
Summer worship begins @ 9:30 am. Sundays, 270 Everett Road, at the corner of West Front Street, Lincroft, NJ, 07738. Church office number is: 732-741-8921. Find out more on LPC’s new website, http://www.lincroftpc.org and on LPC’s Facebook page.
