jerry vasto ashvilleATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – Atlantic Highlands native Jerry Vasto, 23, a former high school and college baseball star, has moved on to a professional baseball career.  He currently plays Class A for South Atlantic League’s, Asheville Tourists, a Colordo Rockies franchise.  He was selected in 2014 first year player’s draft to play for the parent club.  The team is coming to Lakewood in May.

Vasto was a standout player at Felician College where he was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Honorable-Mention All-America team, and at Henry Hudson Regional High School.

The Asheville Tourist will be playing the BlueClaws May 9, 10, 11, AND 12th in Lakewood, NJ.
