MIDDLETOWN, NJ – The Middletown Veterans Affairs Committee will hold a new round of dedication ceremonies on Saturday, April 11, 2015 to mark installation of five more commemorative street signs that honor fallen veterans.  The veterans’ families as well as the public are invited to attend. The ceremonies will include a color guard and the playing of taps.

A total of 31 signs will be added to streets township-wide to honor our fallen veterans from World War II to present. The Veterans Affairs Committee plans to hold ceremonies at all sign locations. The commemorative sign includes the soldier’s full name, an American flag, branch of service, campaign served and a gold star representing the gold star mother and family. The Veterans Affairs Committee is seeking families of Middletown’s fallen veterans. Schulz Drive                          April 11, 10 am
Schulz Drive was named in memory of William Schultz who was killed in action during Vietnam. The road is located off Half Mile Road. Make a right. Schultz Drive is the first light after Newman Springs Road (Route 520).

Branson Drive                       April 11, 10:30 am
Branson Drive was named in memory of Thomas Branson who was killed in action during World War II.  The road is located off Newman Springs Roads (Route 520), west of the overpass.

Brouwer Court                      April 11, 11:00 am

Brouwer Court is named in memory of Frances Brouwer, who was killed in action during World War II.  The road is located off Newman Springs Road (Route 520) past Middletown Lincroft Road, near Lincroft School.

Blevins Avenue                      April 11, 11:30 am

Blevins Avenue is named after Thomas Blevins who was killed in action in Vietnam. Take Middletown-Lincroft Road to Brasch Lane. Make right hand turn at end onto Blevins

Berg Court                             April 11, noon

Berg Court named after George Berg, who was killed in action in Vietnam. Take Middletown-Lincroft Rd. to Dwight Rd. Make left-hand turn onto Malus Ln, then a right onto Berg Court..
