Annual Merit Award Scholarship and Exhibit

The Art Society of Monmouth County is pleased to announce its Annual Merit Award and Exhibit for High School Seniors. The Merit Award Show will be from April 29, 2015 to May 16, 2015.

The Merit Award recognizes students of outstanding ability who will be majoring in Art in a school or college of their choice in 2015. This award will be made to applicants without regard to financial need.

Applicants will participate in an exhibition to take place in the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave. (Route 36), Monmouth Beach, NJ.

Art students will be required to submit six (6) original works: paintings, photographs, graphics, or sculptures, done during their Junior and Senior years.– all 2 dimensional work must be matted or matted and framed with wire attached – READY TO HANG.

Members of the Art Society of Monmouth County will judge all student work and select one or 2 pieces to be exhibited.

To participate, students must complete the attached application, and return to the address below postmarked by April 20, 2015. A letter of acknowledgement will be sent to applicants with further instructions

Application Deadline:

Judging:
Artwork should be delivered to: Monmouth Cultural Center, 128 Ocean Ave., Monmouth Beach, N. J

Deliver artwork on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 between 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
Judging will take place on April 30, 2014.
(In order to be judged, Submit six (6) 2-D and/or 3-D works of art. All 2-D artwork must be matted, covered with clear plastic and WIRED FOR HANGING or optionally framed. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please attach a slip with contact information on all artork submitted.)

Artwork not to be used in the show should be picked up Friday, May 1, 2015 from 11:00am – 2:00pm.

The Reception will be held on May 16, 2015, 1:00pm – 2:30pm

Exhibit:
Exhibit of all Merit Award Participants will be held at the Monmouth Cultural Center, The exhibit will open on May 1, 2015 and close on May 16, 2015.

Artwork Pick-up:
Please pick up all artwork on May 16, 2015 at the end of the reception, if you can not pick up your work at this time please contact Lucille Dellert at 732-229-3377.
