ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — The Rev. Paul F. Rack will present a sermon entitled “Word, Light and Life” during Sunday’s 11 a.m. worship service at the First Presbyterians Church.

The David Nunez-directed adult choir will sing during the service.

The church will also continue its newly initiated 7 p.m. Saturday 30-minute prayer service.

For the next few months, Rack, the church pastor, plans Sunday messages which explore how following Jesus Christ is not just a good and moral way to live but that “finding the unity with and union in God that he brings is the point of human life and even creation itself.”

Sunday’s sermon is based on John 1:1-18

Sunday School, which is open to all area children, will be held following the children’s sermon.

At 12:30 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 11, the church will conduct a “Great Blessing of the Waters” prayer service at the municipal yacht harbor following the regular 11 a.m. service.

Child care and activities are offered every Sunday at the nearly 125-year-old church, located at Third and E. Highland Aves.
