MIDDLETOWN, NJ – At 10:58 AM on Tuesday November 18th, 2014, the Middletown Township Fire Department was dispatched to a “porch fire” at 33 Bayside Parkway in the East Keansburg section of the Township. Approximately 30 firefighters from 2 companies of the Middletown Township Fire Department (East Keansburg and Port Monmouth Fire Companies), under the command of Department Chief Peter Laimann, responded to the scene.

The first arriving fire units observed fire on the second story exterior deck and on the exterior of the first floor directly below the deck at that location. Crews from the East Keansburg Fire Company quickly extinguished the fire. The fire was contained to exterior of the structure, which sustained minor damage.

Chief Laimann declared the fire under control by 11:15 AM. The last units left the scene by 11:45 AM. There were no reported injuries during the incident.

The fire is being investigated by the Middletown Township Fire Prevention.
