ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — The Rev. Paul F. Rack will preach on “A New Creation Is Everything” during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service at the First Presbyterian Church.

     According to Rack, the sermon theme focuses is our how the faith of Christians and communities may be strengthened by following St. Paul’s letters of encouragement as outlined in Galatians 6:1-18.

     “This is the final Sunday of the ecclesiastical year, and our hymns and prayers will be devoted to recognizing how Jesus Christ is our King, our ruler, teacher, example, leader and God,” the pastor said.

     The David Nunez-directed adult choir will provide the music. The choir practices at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and is seeking new members.

     Sunday School, which is open to all area children, begins following the children’s sermon.

     The church will host the annual community ecumenical Thanksgiving Eve service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 in its sanctuary. All area churches will participate and all area residents are invited to attend.

     The 124-year-old church has also announced that it will initiate Saturday evening services, in additional to its regular 11 a.m. Sunday worship, starting at 7 p.m. on Nov. 29, at the same time it will hold its annual pre-Christmas Hanging of the Greens service.
