In a sermon entitled “Live by the Spirit,” the church’s pastor will cite Paul’s message not to live by “the shortsighted demands of their own ego-centric reasoning, or the requirements of an unjust and violent political regime, but by the Holy Spirit.”
“It is the Holy Spirit that gathers … and empowers … (us) as a community,” according to Rack. “Now … (we) are to live together united in love for each other and for the whole world. The message for us is the same: we need to go deeper as a community, access the Spirit, and live in God’s love.”
The pastor’s Sunday sermon is drawn from the Book of Galatians 5:2-26.
The David Nunez-directed adult choir will provide the music. The choir practices at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and is seeking new members.
Sunday School, which is open to all area children, begins following the children’s sermon.
