RED BANK, NJ – The Second Annual Wine Tasting Benefit for the Foundation for the Red Bank Public Library will take place on November 11, 2014, from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the library. The event will feature Faustini wines, specialty cheeses from the Cheese Cave, musical guests Sue Haugenes and John O’Neil, and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $50 for individuals and include wine, hors d’oeuvres, and sweets. Several other sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are available. Tickets can be purchased at librarywinestasting.eventbee.com, at the library, or by calling Kathleen Brown at 732-673-4384. Tickets will be held at the door. Guests must be 21 or older. The Foundation for the Red Bank Public Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Children 3 and up are invited to bring along their favorite Teddy Bear to the Teddy Bear Picnic hosted by the Avice Noblett Children’s Room at the Red Bank Public Library on Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to noon. The Red Bank Public Library proudly welcomes back The Red Bank Chamber Ensemblewhen they perform in the Eisner Room on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. Members of the group are Monmouth County high school students enrolled in the Red Bank Regional Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. Teacher Jeffrey Boga conducts the ensemble. This free concert is open to all and no registration is required.
Join the next meeting of the Artists’ Workshop for adults at the Red Bank Public Library on Thursday, November 6, 2014, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Artists seeking inspiration, motivation, and time to devote to their work are invited to attend the Artists’ Workshop on the first Thursday of each month. Red Bank artist Joe Bergholm, our Artist-in-Residence, works with the artists as a group and individually, offering suggestions for subjects as well as guidance in principles of art such as color, composition, and the selection and use of materials. The Artists’ Workshop is free and no registration is required. Participants should bring their own drawing and painting materials, although oils are not permitted because of ventilation concerns. The Red Bank Public Library monthly adult book discussion group, Readin’ on the River, will meet on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. to discuss In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez. Please contact the library for information on the current off-site location.
English as a Second Language classes for adults 18 and over are conducted by the Literacy Volunteers of Monmouth County at the Red Bank Public Library from September through June. The current 10-week session is in progress; the next session will begin January 15, 2015. The Red Bank Public Library offers free weekly one-hour Yoga for Adults on Fridays from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The class is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience. Please bring your own yoga mat. Registration is not required. Participants attend on a first come, first served basis up to a total of twenty people.
The Jersey Inchkins is a club made up of adults who do “very little work.” Club members build houses, rooms, scenes, and vignettes in miniature, usually on a scale of one inch to one foot. Jersey Inchkins meets at the library on the third Wednesday of each month from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. The group welcomes new members 18 and older interested in developing their skills in this creative fields.
The Red Bank Senior Center in cooperation with the Red Bank Public Library hosts a book discussion group on the last Monday of each month at the Senior Center at 1:00 p.m. except in December. Red Bank Borough residents age 60 and over are welcome to join the Center and participate in this or any of its
