ATLANTIC  HIGHLANDS, NJ -The Board of Deacons of the First Presbyterian Church will stage its 2nd annual Fall Festival Vendor Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the church at E. Highland and Third Aves.

       The fund-raising event will feature pumpkins, kitchen supplies, food, photos, makeup, jewelry, baked goods and prizes and will be held rain or shine. All area residents are welcome to attend.

       During the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service, the Rev. Paul F. Rack will continue his series of sermons on the Apostle Paul. 

       The pastor’s sermon, entitled “Receiving the Spirit,” will be based on the Book of Galatians 3:1-14.

       According to Rack pastor, St. Paul understands the criterion for authentic faith and worship to be “receiving the Spirit.”

       “What does he mean?” Rack asks in describing his message’. “What is the content of receiving the Spirit?  How is a worshiping community that receives the Spirit different from one that does not?  What does all this say about the way we worship and trust in Jesus Christ today?”

       The David Nunez-directed adult choir will perform during the service.

       Sunday School, which is open to all area children, will begin following the children’s sermon.

       Child care and activities for all children are provided during all services held at the church.
