ATLANTIC  HIGHLANDS, NJ – The Rev. Paul F. Rack, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct a blessing of the animals from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. All area residents are invited to bring their pets to the outdoor event, which will be held rain or shine.

The pastor will continue his series of sermons looking at St. Paul’s letter to the Galatians during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service. He will also administer  Holy Communion.

Rack’s sermon, entitled “No Compromises,” will be based on the Book of Galatians 2:1-21 and will focus on the apostle Paul confronting St. Peter over the place of Jewish law in Christian life.

We treat each of our patients as part of the family at Atlantic Highlands Animal Hospital. We offer top-quality surgical and dental treatments for cats and dogs. For the best pet care in the Atlantic Highlands, NJ, call us at (732) 291-4400.

Among the questions to be covered are how do Christians decide what is essential and what can we be flexible about.

The David Nunez-directed adult choir will perform during the service.

Sunday School, which is open to all area children, will begin following the children’s sermon.

Child care and activities for all children are provided during all services held at the church.

The service at the 124-year-old church at Third and E. Highland Avenues will be held in the church sanctuary after being conducted in the Fellowship Hall in the rear of the sanctuary for the summer as part of a casual seasonal program.

The Deacons’ second annual Vendor Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the church, and is open to the public.
