Linne A. Grant began her art studies with Lorraine Niemela and continues with other local artists.  A detailed-oriented watercolorist whose main theme is portraying older buildings with character in Monmouth County – “places where we have all been.”  Her subjects incorporate older buildings and notable monuments found throughout the county.  A life-long resident of the County she says “I love to capture the tone of a particular building and then enjoy watching people’s faces and hearing their stories about each place I’ve painted.  Some stories are funny and add an even deeper connection with my goal to paint something from every town in Monmouth County.”  Some of her most remembered pieces of artwork include the Sandy Hook Light House, the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, Ice Boating on the Navesink and the Middletown Clown, seen on Route 35.  Her artwork has been displayed in exhibitions held at the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center, Libraries in Rumson, Middletown, and Wall Little Silver Borough Hall and the Galleria in Red Bank.  Linne is a member of the Art Society of Monmouth County, the Monmouth County Art Council and the Guild of Creative Art, all in NJ. Volpe is an avid en plein air painter where she believes in capturing the atmospheric light and the true changing colors of nature.  She is known for her illustrious colors on her palette.  Her paintings are commissioned by private collectors and are displayed in home and offices throughout Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Nantucket.  Her portrait artwork has also been published on t-shirts, sold in music stores and worn by Chris Robinson lead singer of “The Black Crows” rock band.

Although her career started with portraits and fashion designs, she is inspired by her travels, to capture nature, with its wondrous colors, and all its subtleties of light and dark shades, which developed her interest in landscapes created in multi mediums.  During her travel to Nantucket in 2009, she first met John P. Osborne at his en plein air workshop where he introduced the Prismatic Palette to which she uses in her paintings today.  She finds painting to be a learning process always full of new challenges and ideas.
