MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Wednesday morning members of the Atlantic Highlands Fire Department and Atlantic Highlands EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident on Valley Drive and Highway 26 in Middletown.

A garbage truck was on its side on Valley Drive.  The injured driver was pulled from the vehicle by others on the scene, according to one witness.

The witness wrote on her facebook wall, “That poor man was shaking so bad.  It really could (have) been much worse and I am so thankful it was not!  I hope the man is ok.  He had some cuts but I did not get to close cause all the other people were tending to him.  The Lord was with a lot of us today because a few seconds sooner (and) that truck would (have) for sure hit us.”
