MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Change A Life Uganda is pleased to announce its first annual 5k Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run for kids on October 5, 2014, at 9:30.  

The “Run for Education” event will be held on a USATF certified course in beautiful Thompson Park, Lincroft, New Jersey.  Split Second Timing will provide timing services. Online registration costs $30 for the 5k race and $15 for the kids’ 1 Mile fun run is available at www.RaceForum.com/Uganda.   

Avid runners as well as joggers, walkers and Change A Life Uganda’s supporters are all welcome to participate in this family friendly event.  All funds raised will help Change A Life Uganda provide quality education to children in rural Migyera and Nabbingo, Uganda.  “Education is the greatest gift you can give a Ugandan child.  This race is a fun way to help us give that gift to more children,” said Jean Semler, founder and executive director of Change A Life Uganda.

The first 300 registrants will receive t-shirts.  Category winners will receive handmade Ugandan crafts.  Race packets can be picked up at Road Runner Sports located at 490 Broad Street in Shrewsbury on October 4th from 3:00pm-6:00pm.  Late registration will also be available that day ($35 for 5k and $20 for kids’ fun run).
