Dear Editor, New Jersey should become the first state in the nation to implement a free four-year college system. Tuition at New Jersey's community colleges and state universities should be provided free of charge to all lawfully present New Jersey high school graduates and others who have been lawful state residents for at least one year. By creating a truly comprehensive public education system in New Jersey that includes college, the supposed right to a free public education will finally become a reality for our modern day state. Middle-class and working families have faced an unfair burden due to rising higher education costs and the politicians have failed to provide much needed relief for our students. Taxes on legalized marijuana and prostitution could provide the necessary funds to make free college in New Jersey a reality. Let's End the War on Drugs and start a Fight for Education.
