monmouth civic chorusRED BANK, NJ – Experienced singers are invited to audition for the award-winning Monmouth Civic Chorus by appointment on Wednesday evenings beginning in September. The 2014-15 season features early 20th-century English music in November; the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah along with holiday favorites in December; music by Bernstein, Kodaly and Whitacre in March; and Vespers settings by Mozart and Monteverdi in May. This is MCC’s third season led by Artistic Director Dr. Ryan Brandau, whoholds the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the Yale School of Music, an MPhil in historical musicology from the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), and a BA in Music from Princeton University.

 

Interested singers are encouraged to attend a rehearsal. Auditions and rehearsals are held on Wednesdays at Red Bank Charter School, 58 Oakland Street, Red Bank, New Jersey. The Monmouth Civic Chorus is the proud recipient of the 2008 ASCAP/Chorus America Alice Parker Award, and the 2010 Spinnaker Award for Arts and Culture from the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chorus has been called “close to perfect” (Asbury Park Press), “alive and evocative” (The Star-Ledger) and “exceptional” (Red Bank Green).
