“We are delighted that the PAPJC’s has selected our agency as the beneficiary of their annual art exhibition,” says FCS CEO Delly Beekman, “This is a great opportunity to use the passion and creativity of the artist community to support those facing challenging times in their lives.”
Based at the Jersey Shore, the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast is a group of artists that likes to work “en plein air,” a term that is used to describe painting that is done outdoors. Started in 2003 with a handful of local artists, the organization now has more than 50 painter members and continues to grow each year.
“Painting outdoors allows an artist to capture the unique colors and atmospheric effects you don’t see when painting from photographs,” says PAPJC founder and Paint it Forward organizer Judy Stach. “The light is constantly changing, challenging the artist to interpret what they see.”
PAPJC members often paint as a group, drawing inspiration from the varied seascapes and landscapes that make up the Jersey Coast. On a recent morning, the group gathered in Hartshorne Woods Park to capture the park’s peaceful coves, gentle shorelines and historic outbuildings on canvas, board and paper. Many of their works will be available for sale at Paint it Forward.
Tickets to “Paint it Forward” are $55 and include wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres. Casual, beach club attire required. To receive your invitation call 732-222-911 or or email [email protected] To purchase tickets online, visit www.fcsmonmouth.org
