RED BANK, NJ – The music world has lost a blues rock icon in Johnny Winter.

For the Count Basie Theatre, this means his performance here on Sunday, August 3rd is unfortunately canceled. Mr. Winter, his brother Edgar and others were slated to perform that evening as part of our Appetite™ culinary arts festival. Though the evening performance is canceled, that day’s Appetite™ Afternoon activities will go on as scheduled. Customers holding tickets to Mr. Winter’s concert may return to their original point of purchase for a refund. Patrons who purchased via or our phone charge will receive an automatic refund in the coming days. As a token of our appreciation, these ticketholders are invited to attend one our Appetite™ Afternoon events free of charge. Simply bring your ticket stub or identification to the box office on either Saturday, August 2nd or Sunday, August 3rd between noon – 5pm to obtain your complimentary daytime ticket. In the meantime, our thoughts and condolences are with the family, friends and fans of Mr. Winter, a musician we were fortunate to host on several occasions, and one whose contribution to the blues will remain legendary for some time to come.
