MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Chief of Police, Robert Oches, Middletown Township Police Department announces that all police patrols will be conducting vigorous enforcement action against underage drinkers.
One of the biggest problems in our society is substance abuse and alcohol is the most commonly abused substance. Young people are severely injured and killed as a result of accidents in which alcohol is a factor. Chief Oches wishes to remind all parents and teens that strict enforcement of all statutes governing underage drinking will be taken in an effort to safeguard the young people of our township.
All parents are requested to chaperon house parties very carefully in an effort to reduce this problem. Members of the police department are available to answer any questions parents may have and to assist any group in establishing an anti-alcohol program.
