Renowned Artist Glyn Macey Launched Charitable, 30-City Tour in Asbury Park

ASBURY PARK, NJ  – The Collective Art Tank today announced that renowned British artist Glyn Macey kicked off his nationwide USA 4 UNICEF Tour on Monday, May 5 at its 529 Bangs Avenue studio location in Asbury Park.  Following a statement by Macey that discussed the mission of his tour, his artwork and tips and techniques for using Liquitex art materials, all provided at 9:00 a.m. at The Collective Art Tank, the artist then travelled to the Asbury Park Boardwalk where he painted the first of 100 original studies to be completed during USA 4 UNICEF.

A nationwide, charitable tour that will include stops in 30 American cities, Macey’s USA 4 UNICEF will span 3,000 miles, 12 states and three time zones as he paints 100 original studies to be auctioned off in support of UNICEF, the United Nations children’s organization.  Liquitex, an industry-leading acrylic-based paint supplier and co-sponsor of The Collective Art Tank, will provide Macey with necessary art supplies throughout his journey.

“We are honored that Macey, a celebrated artist with international recognition, kicked off his American tour at The Collective Art Tank.  Liquitex and its sister brands Winsor & Newton and Conté à Paris, also sponsors  of The Collective Art Tank, are dedicated to supporting the arts as an agent for social change.  The company’s support of Macey throughout USA 4 UNICEF will provide him with the art materials he needs, and further promote his good-will mission,” commented Jimmy Leslie, resident artist at Liquitex, Winsor & Newton and Conté à Paris, and director of The Fine Art Collective.

A celebrated artist who is known for capturing the essence of a landscape through mixed-media techniques, Macey also is commonly recognized for giving back to notable causes.  Over the past four years, the artist has raised more than $65,000 for noteworthy organizations.  Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and National Trust are two such organizations recently supported by the artist.
