Her sermon is entitled “How to Heal a Society in Disarray” and is aimed at helping church members and friends understand how to live and sustain their lives as Christians in a chaotic world.

Macfie will be pinch-hitting for the Rev. Paul F. Rack, the church’s pastor, who is away. Macfie is an ordained Presbyterian minister and a counselor in private practice in Metuchen.

The church’s adult choir, directed by David Nunez, will also sing during the service. It rehearses at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday and is seeking new members.

The 124-year-old handicapped accessible church at Third and East Highland Aves. has extra parking available in the new municipal lot next to the Christian Education Building at 17 E. Highland Ave.

Child care for four-year-olds and younger continues to be provided during each worship service.
