Innovative Program Features Trio’s Musical Artistry and Varied Repertory

NAVESINK, NJ – All Saints’ Memorial Church (Old Stone Church), proudly announces that Elysian Ensemble will perform at its thirty-third annual Candlelight Concert, Sunday, December 1, at 4 pm. The program for cello, flute and harp by outstanding chamber players, Samuel Magill, Lucian Rinando, and Elaine Christy, promises a unique blend of meditative works, both classical

and contemporary.  Lucian Rinando and Samuel Magill co-founded the Elysian Ensemble, praised as “masters of their instruments” by Strings Magazine.

Flutist Lucian Rinando, brings a world-wide reputation for graceful performance, and is well-known locally as Assistant Conductor of the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra and as a faculty member of Ocean County College and Monmouth Conservatory of Music. His professional work in the Metropolitan area includes principal flutist with the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, and Cantori New York, and annual engagements with the New York Chamber Music Festival.  Elaine Christy enjoys a well-established career of harp performance and instruction (Princeton), and is a winner of the American Harp Society Competition.  Her work has been lauded in various area venues including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Trinity Church Manhattan, and on The Late Show with David Letterman.  Cellist Samuel Magill, graduate of Peabody Institute and the Shepherd School of Music, is heralded as a consummate interpreter of the cello.  He performs   with the New York Chamber Music Festival and with the Metropolitan Opera Festival, has performed solo at Alice Tully Hall, and is a Naxos recording artist.

 Works to be performed include Elegiac Trio for flute, cello and harp by Arnold Bax, Herbsttag for flute cello and harp by Miguel del Aguila, L’Aube Enchantee for flute and harp by Ravi Shankar, Hamabdil for cello and harp by Granville Bantock, Kokopeli Solo Flute by Native American composer Katherine Hoover, and Sonate for flute, viola, and harp by Claude Debussy.

All Saints’ Memorial Church, a National Landmark, is celebrating its 150th Anniversary, and as part of that celebration, the Candlelight Concert will honor John Karlin, founding member of the Hartshorne Chamber Players which performed at the Candlelight Concert over the years.
