Public to Tour New Space, Sample Art Supplies and Add to In-store Design at Open House Event
ASBURY PARK, NJ – The Collective Art Tank, a collaborative by artist and gallery-owner John Viggiano and international fine art suppliers Liquitex, Winsor & Newton and Conté à Paris, today announced plans to celebrate the grand opening of its new storefront location with an open house. Kicking off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, the event will welcome artists, art lovers and friends to peruse the new venue located at 529 Bangs Avenue in downtown Asbury Park. Staying true to the Art Tank’s collaborative mission, guests will be invited to add their creative spin to the design and painting of an in-store display case. Art supplies by Winsor & Newton, Liquitex and Conté à Paris will be on hand for sampling and use; interested guests will be encouraged to sign-up to receive additional complimentary product samples.
After three years of operating at the Shoppes at the Arcade in Asbury Park, The Collective Art Tank’s new storefront location will broaden its exposure, enhance accessibility, and further its mission of supporting the thriving arts community in and around the city-by-the-sea. Fueled by its growing reputation as a communal space where artists can work, display art and teach classes free of charge, The Collective Art Tank will welcome artists and artists-in-residence, as well as offer art instructors a free space to host technique-based demos, workshops and classes. Products by Liquitex, Winsor & Newton and Conté à Paris will be available for sampling by the public, as well as for use in classes and demonstrations. Gallery openings and art-driven events will be celebrated in the space.
“We are very excited to unveil our new storefront location at the open house event. The Collective Art Tank is a space that artists of all levels can utilize – from beginners interested in art classes to professional artists in need of a free space to work or teach. Its new ground-level studio will enhance its visibility, and encourage even more members of the arts community to take advantage of its resources and services,” commented John Viggiano.
In addition to its in-house offerings, The Collective Art Tank’s contributions to the city of Asbury Park are varied. This Spring, it will welcome the return of Liquitex and Winsor & Newton’s annual Artist Outreach Program Weekend to Asbury Park. The event brings professional artists from throughout North America to Asbury Park for a weekend of product demonstrations and gallery exhibits. The Collective Art Tank also supports the artistic development of its instructors and students. Asbury Park artist and Art Tank instructor Jay Mack has received numerous accolades since his start with the program, including an invitation to paint live during the Arts Materials World® 2013 in Minneapolis.
