david prown 120I had just turned 4 when President Kennedy was shot. I’m not sure if we had a TV at the time but I definitely have no recollection of the event in anyway shape or form. With the 50th anniversary of this assassination next month, I wanted to see this film and learn more.

This was definitely not a documentary, yet moreso a story. No big bombshells in this film or deep questions delved into or poised. Simply, based on a book “4 Days in November”, told several intertwining stories and it was quite interesting.

The cast was a true who’s who from Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, Marcia Gay Harden, Jacki Weaver and more.

We follow the mini story of very low tech hospital scene (no mention in this film of shot Gov. Connolly), Mr. Zapruder’s famous film and its path, FBI side stories, Lee Harvey Oswald’s brothers story (amazingly he stayed in Texas, raised his family, kept his name and is alive today at 84.), Oswald’s abject nutty Mom and more.

I saw this film in the ridiculously comfortable theatre #3 at the Showroom in Asbury (what a great place). I’m very pleased I saw the film and was engaged throughout.

Yet I wasn’t provoked to the point that the movie stayed with me beyond the 90 minutes of running time.
