My travels took me to the Freehold 14 multiplex (near the Mall) and this theatre is an AMC like the Monmouth Mall. The line was a little slow moving and I found out the reason why. At this theatre, all patrons must select a reserved seat (70 years of general admission down the drain). I just don’t get it…the search for the perfect seat is the funnest part.
Plus with no ushers inside and when the theatre’s dark, good luck finding ones seat (there was an argument between 2 couples going on behind me). Needless to say, I did not sit in the seat they picked for me (as I wouldn’t pick one).
This theatre has fabulous soft, vinyl seats (some even recline) that are tremendously comfortable. So add in tennis earlier in the day, no coffee, no 5 hour energy drink and no nap along with super comfortable seat, I was snoozing within short.
I had to go see “The Family” due to the cast, especially Robert DeNiro, Michelle Pfeiffer & Tommy Lee Jones (along with daughter Dianna Agron from “Glee”).
I guess this was a spoof on the mob/mafia and the father, “Mr. DeNiro” was in witness protection with the whole family in Italy. You have the sense they have been in witness protection for a long time and the wife, and 2 kids deal with it no problem. Plus along the way, all 3 have a dazzling set of “street skills” to inflict damage, pain etc. to folks that cross them.
I guess it was a satire of sort as it was so predictable and definitely a healthy amount of violence. The “Family” was ever-present in this film in a variety of genre’s.
Great cast…forgettable film.
Pretty good audience but I’m not real optimistic on the word of mouth.
