LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Jersey Mike’s Subs, founded in Point Pleasant, and a great supporter of the Shore Conference community and teams, will be opening its doors in Long Branch on Wednesday, August 14.  Evan Mayer will hold a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from opening day on August 14 to Sunday, August 18 to support Long Branch High School’s Green Wave Athletics and the Borough of Monmouth Beach Fire Department.

The new restaurant, located at Ursula Plaza 444 Ocean Boulevard North, will circulate 12,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a generous contribution to Long Branch High School’s Green Wave Athletics or the Borough of Monmouth Beach Fire Department.

This new Long Branch location sits just miles away from Jersey Mike’s home office, now headquartered in Manasquan.  Started at the Jersey Shore in Point Pleasant in 1956, Jersey Mike’s continues its expansion from coast to coast as well as at home.

Mayer exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects individuals who share the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community.  Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

The grand opening in Long Branch will be dedicated to supporting the local high school athletics as well as the Superstorm Sandy-ravaged Monmouth Beach Fire Department.

“Sandy hit home for our whole coast, and it is important that we help get our local servicemen and women back up and running,” said Mayer.  “They were the true heroes in the wake of the storm, and we want to do our part to get them back to full strength.”

Mayer added, “The high school sports program is such an important part of these young students’ lives, and we want to do what we can to support them. A number of our employees here at the store and at the home office have stories of growing up as athletes in the Shore Conference.  Those were our glory days, and by teaming up with Green Wave Athletics we hope to help provide the same positive experience for students today.”
