MIDDLETOWN, NJ -CPC’s Annual Summer Benefit Event was held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the gorgeous Navesink Country Club in Middletown, from 7-11 p.m.  Guests came together to support the mission of CPC Behavioral Healthcare and enjoyed an evening of sumptuous food as well as live music from Bob Burger and Friends.   

Helmed by co-chairs Ray Eckhoff, Vice President of The Provident Bank and Rumson resident, and Carol Strang, Senior Vice President with OceanFirst Bank and Brick resident, this year the Agency celebrated the contributions of Doug Douty, owner of the Lusty Lobster in Highlands, NJ, and the OceanFirst Foundation, headquartered in Toms River, NJ.  Douty was presented with CPC’s Humanitarian Award and OceanFirst received CPC’s Corporate Good Neighbor Award.  Both Douty and OceanFirst are well-known for their exemplary support of the community through gifts, grants, volunteer activities and a consistent, genuine interest in the overall health, strength and well-being of everyone who lives and works in Monmouth County.

Ben Lucarelli, of Fair Haven, NJ, was the charismatic master of ceremonies for the live program auction. His efforts helped CPC raise over $16,000 for the purchase of a state-of-the-art health kiosk. The kiosk is part of a pilot program to improve overall outcomes for CPC clients in what is a ‘first-in-New Jersey’ accomplishment for the Agency and the people it serves.

The importance of mental health to overall well-being and success has achieved renewed attention and engaged the media spotlight thanks to a vigorous national discussion led by the President and healthcare leadership.  More and more communities are incorporating mental health education and anti-stigma campaigns into neighborhood priorities.  

The Agency hosts several events each year to raise funds in support of its mission to provide quality mental healthcare to Monmouth County residents who cannot afford it.  Last year, CPC served more than 8,000 people in Monmouth County with a variety of behavioral health services ranging from short-term, outpatient treatment to long-term treatment for serious and persistent mental health issues.   In addition to three counseling centers located throughout the County, CPC’s High Point School welcomes more than 200 special education students each year to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
