The Township Committee proclaimed July 15th as Anthony P. Mercantante Day to honor him for his selfless service. Mercantante, who suffered personal losses at the hands of Sandy, slept in his office and spent twelve days at the Emergency Operations Center at Town Hall to manage the endless stream of problems that arose as a result of the historic storm.
