MIDDLETOWN, NJ – A fire in North Middletown Tuesday evening claimed the lives of a mother and daughter.  The fire broke out in a second floor bedroom at 30 Ideal Avenue, according the an official with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office.   The fire was reported around 11:00 p.m.

Diane Young, 53 and her daughter, Jacqulin Young, 27 were pronounced dead by the Monmouth County Medical Examiner’s Office at 3:50 a.m this morning. 

The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy scheduled for later today.

Investigation of the scene is under way with officers from Middletown Police Department, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Monmouth County Fire Marshall.
