Dear Atlantic Highlands Herald,

I am writing in support of Wendy Shankin-Cohen’s fine rebuff of the repugnant, irresponsible, and grossly ignorant article by Woody Zimmerman concerning the Boy Scouts of America and gays. This is the kind of piece that has no place in this newspaper—or any newspaper. I am a daily reader and a very grateful one for the work the AHH does to bring news to our community. That said, I am deeply disturbed that this kind of offensive filth is printed here and think the article should be retracted by the publisher, with an apology for its publication. Since Ms. Shankin-Cohen has already written a reasoned commentary, I won’t repeat her words except to support her and to register my disgust.

Sincerely,

Laury A. Egan
