oceanic_bridge_lengthRumson, NJ – The Oceanic Bridge between Rumson and Middletown was closed this morning.  Traffic is being rerouted to the Cooper Bridge in Red Bank or the Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge.

Rumson Police referred inquiries to the Monmouth County Highway Division.  A woman answering the phone at the Highway Division said many people are out this week due to the holidays, leaving one person in the Bridge department.  The call was not immediately returned.

High winds from a post-Christmas storm has knocked trees down and caused power outages in many areas of the county. Most outages have now been restored.

Flooding is reported in Sea Bright, where one woman posting a photo on facebook said as much as a foot of water covered her street.
