“This NTP is another important milestone in Belmar’s aggressive approach to reconstructing the boardwalk by Memorial Day 2013.” said Mayor Matthew J. Doherty.

Epic Construction won the boardwalk contract after a robust bidding process and is staged to commence work in early January.  The new boardwalk, to replace what Hurricane Sandy decimated, is engineered to 2012 standards that would have survived hurricanes and ocean surges of similar force.

Epic Construction, is a well respected 40 year old company with their headquarters in Piscataway, NJ.  The bids ranged from Epic Construction’s low bid of $6.6 Million to the highest bid of 19.6 Million.  The full list of responding construction firms and their bids are available at www.belmar.com
