HIGHLANDS, NJ – Borough offices are currently housed at the fire department building on Shore Dr.  The administration has obtained two trailers for use as a temporary borough hall and the Highlands Police Department.

Starting next week, the temporary borough administrative offices will be set up in one of the trailers to be located on Shore Dr. just south of the Fire Department.  The Police Department trailer will be set up further south on Shore Dr., in the parking lot.

Borough Administrator Tim Hill said the town is negotiating a lease for space for a third trailer to house the Construction Department.

Currently, Munical Court sessions are held at Atlantic Highlands Municial Court.  Police are also using the Atlantic Highlands Police Department lock-up as needed.

Thanks to a temporary loan from Cisco Systems, Borough Hall has a temporary telephone system.  The phone number is 1-408-432-2811.  There is no voicemail available, but the phone is manned during office hours.  Those calling using a land-line must dial “1” before the phone number.
