MIDDLETOWN, NJ – This is a message from the Middletown Township Office of Emergency Management. The Governor has declared a State of Emergency. At this time, the Township has issued a voluntary evacuation order. It is recommended that residents, especially those in low lying areas of the Township and areas between route 36 and the bay, leave the area before 4:00pm Sunday.

The County has established two shelters. One at Monmouth University and one in Wall Township. Only Wall Township will accept pets. If you need a shelter you must first go to the staging area at Croydon Hall, 900 Leonardville Road, and you will be transported to a shelter. Visit for further updates.
