SANDY HOOK, NJ – Park Officials closed Sandy Hook to vehicular traffic at 12:30 p.m. today.  “The lots are full,” said Conrad Wisniewski, a park ranger at the Sandy Hook Visitor Center at Gateway Nation Recreation Area.  “You can walk or bike in, but no vehicles are allowed for now.  We expect to reopen (the parking lots) by two o’clock, or two-thirty, the latest,” said Ranger Wisniewski.

The Asbury Park Press reports that there is a local traffic advisory in Highlands. “It’s heavy, but it’s moving,” Highlands police Capt. Henry Clagett said about noon of the Sunday traffic, according to the Press.
