ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – The Atlantic Highlands Historical Society will host its Summer House Tour on Saturday June 9. Visitors will be able to view a glimpse of our historic town by visiting four lovely homes, a unique local brewery, and the Strauss Mansion Museum.

The tour will showcase four residences each with their own unique architectural style and restoration.  Among them are three Victorian era homes: one a picture perfect home beautifully restored with some modern amenities through a carefully planned addition; another with an entrance crafted in chestnut wainscoting with original oak throughout the home and a cleverly designed garden, and a multiple dwelling 1893 Queen Anne which stands near the Strauss Mansion and was used for parties during that era, and a 1940’s era center-hall colonial with original hard wood floors and moldings lovingly restored with the addition of a basement entertainment room. Also on tour is a 1906 storage warehouse restored and converted into a microbrewery with tasting room. Tour goers will also have the opportunity to tour the Strauss Mansion Museum a 21 room 1893 Queen Ann Style Victorian.

The self-guided tour will be held from 10AM to 4PM. The tour begins at the Strauss Mansion Museum at 27 Prospect Circle (at the top of East Mount Ave.)

Light refreshments will be served. Ticket prices are  $30, the day of the tour and $25 for advance sales and members of the Historical Society. Tickets can be purchased at the Flaky Tart 145 First Ave. or calling 732-291-1861, or 732-291-4313. Or by email [email protected]

All proceeds from this event will be used for the further preservation and renovation of the Strauss Mansion Museum, which is the home of the Society, and educational programs throughout the year. Additional information is available by contacting the above listed contacts.
