Red Bank, NJ – The Community YMCA’s Aquarockets Swim Team again excelled at the 2012 YMCA National Swimming Championships, April 2 – 5, in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Eleven local swimmers earned All American status (placing in top 16 of an event), the boys team ranked 11th overall, and combined boys and girls teams ranked 17th out of 250 teams competing.   

“We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of our swimmers,” said Coach Jack Caucino, who has been coaching in Red Bank for over 15 years. “Our team broke
17 records in all, and this meet was the culmination of another successful season.”

Nineteen swimmers from 10 local schools qualified this spring to compete at YMCA Nationals: Alex D’Anna, Eddie Healy, Sean Dunne, Dean Shafritz and Chris Tucker, Christian Brothers Academy; Samuel Lynch, Ocean Township High School; Joe Torres, Marlboro High School; Dave Carlson, Manasquan High School; Shannon Slate, Jackie Van Lew and Jill Crosby, Red Bank Catholic; Tyler Kauth, Old Bridge High School; Katie McKay, Holmdel High School; Alex Lin, Ranney School; Chris Vadala and Erin Finn, Middletown North High School; Jack Harrison, Monmouth Regional High School; Julia Bland and Shoshana Swell, Rumson Fair Haven School.

The Red Bank Aquarockets is a competitive swim team that competes in the National YMCA Swimming and Diving and the United States Swimming organizations.  A program of The Community YMCA, the team consists of approximately 200 swimmers ranging in age from 6 to 18 and is coached by full-time and part-time professional coaches, who are supported by the Red Bank Swim Team Parent Association.
